I’m patient, now quit asking..
There’s this nice, old man sitting next to me at Starbucks. He walks up with a smile and asks for the extra chair at my table. I smile back and say, “Of course.” But it’s as he takes the chair that he starts mumbling about this “not being my office” and needing to “pay rent” to be here.. Did you not get my chair? Did I not gladly offer you my other seat despite the 8 other unoccupied chairs sitting around empty tables? So why the backlash? And more importantly, why did his comment even bother me?
